From the last post you will have guessed I am not far away from completion. I have had the car out on closed roads to set the brake balance etc and to deal with a misfire issue which was a faulty camshaft sensor. So the car currently looks like this:

I will be booking the IVA in the next week or so so Steve O'Mara may have a few emails as I work through the documentation.

All being well I should be road legal soon!

  1. Looking good. Like the laptop mount in the boot - does the laptop do anything like data logging, or is it just for carrying the laptop around? Interior looks neatly done. Fingers crossed for you for IVA.

  2. Dave, thank you for the kind comments. The laptop gets live Engine data via INPA software. I am linking this with GPS location data and all being well video data. A little way to go yet but the engine (RPM, road speed, throttle position etc) and GPS data is working. I can download this from the car via my home network when the car is in the garage. A little way to go yet!

  3. Nice idea - having WiFi upload capability will be v convenient. GPS is via a phone? You could also get accelerometer data if it is.

Car must surely be ready for a test session at Snetterton on the 29th... I'm planning a track day then if you fancy it?

  4. Dave, the GPS is via a card in the laptop. The antenna is on top of the roll cage.
A good idea to do a track day. I am booked to Rockingham on the 11th otherwise I would have joined you. I am a member of Peterborough Motor Club, we susbsidise members track days so its a good day and cheap.

I'm still here if you need any help, just forgot to check your blog. If you need me you can email me omara04@yahoo.com or post up on gkdoc.com. Cheers!
